Underground Storage and Connected Cubicle Sheds
B & M O’Brien Brothers were contracted to carry out the full groundworks and concrete construction for a new agricultural development in Bandon, Co. Cork, comprising an underground slurry storage tank and a connected cubicle shed facility.
Works included the excavation and formation of the underground storage structure, with precast concrete panels installed to form the tank walls, engineered to meet current agricultural storage regulations. The reinforced concrete floor slab was laid to precise levels, with steel reinforcement mesh installed throughout prior to pour.
The cubicle shed groundworks were completed in parallel, including strip foundations, concrete floor preparation, and yard surfacing. The completed yard area was finished with a brushed concrete surface, providing a durable, easy-clean environment suitable for heavy agricultural use.
Our team managed all civils from initial cut and fill through to final reinstatement, working closely with the steel frame contractor to ensure the groundworks programme aligned with the shed erection schedule.
The project demonstrates our capability across agricultural construction, combining underground civil engineering with above-ground concrete works on a live farm setting.
